Uni: Day 3
MATH132: Easy as pi (lol) - just revising complex numbers again. Calm before the stormmmmm.
STAT171: Going through some of the year 9/10 data/stats etc, such as mean, median - types of graphs etc. So far - pretty straightforward and easy so far. Just touch up on various stuff.
Another note: 8am lectures are a painnnnnn.
>Polemic, out.

Uni: Day 2
MATH132 - Covering basics so far, nothing tooo hard. Some confusing material, but shouldnt be too bad in the long run. Looked at some past papers - and there is still a lot of material to cover.

Words from an inspirational person
Apollo Kim says

: ) life is overcoming the obstacles , accepting and embracing your flaws , carving your own direction regardless of what other people say , acknowledging that universal approval is non existent and that every mistake , failure and set back is just motivation to work other but most importantly it's focusing your energy into making both yourself and others happier (L)

how lucky are we
that we have a roof above our head
that we are going to university
that we aren't starving to death (i.e. we can afford food)
that we can shape our own lives (freedom of speech/choice etc)

Reality
Current situation: VERY torn regarding whether to go Macquarie or UNSW (god please help).
Although everyone can agree on the fact that post-hsc life has been characterised mostly by time-wasting (on the large part), we have to realise that we are no longer 'children' that still attend high school. By choosing to go to university, we have made the single, most important decision - a decision that will determine what we will do for the rest of our lives. The decisions we make in the present will come to haunt us in the future. We are old enough to make choices for ourselves. In order to make an informed and correct decision, we have to learn to look past parental and peer influences, and do what we think is best for us as it is these choices that will determine WHAT and WHO we will be for the rest of our lives. By allowing ourselves to be influenced by outside pressures means that the decision that we are making is not truly the right one for us.
I cannot help but feel worried and nervous, as I know that the choice I make now will determine my life forever.
Signing out,
Apollo

Oblivious to everything
Sometimes, on a rainy day, don't you like to look out the window, and marvel at the beauty of the landscape? Makes you remark at just how insignificant you are compared to the rest of the world.
Just about to sleep
I am the luckiest person alive.
Like, I don't really have much to blog about, as my feelings cannot be expressed in mere words, other than just how amazing things have turned out in the past few days.
Goal in life: happiness (one step closer?)

Realisation
After fiddling around with the template designer and whatnot, I've realised that I'm not creative enough to come up with a design that is aesthetically appealing.
ffs
so many people around us fail to realise just how lucky they are to even have a roof above their head. Instead they bitch and moan about the most stupid things - thinking that the whole world would listen to their complaints. Spoilt brats.
e.g. - typical year 8 girl: "omg why does my photo only have 40 likes, when the other girl has like 70 - am I ugly or something?"

Refer Back Here (Future Reference) #1
Interesting facts from an article I recently read regarding happiness...
- Education and intelligence do not make you more happy than anyone else.
- People in relationships are usually happier than people who are single, however… Happier people are more likely to retain relationships.
- Only 10 percent of your happiness comes from external circumstances.
- People who tend not to take things personally or hold grudges are far happier than those that do.
Happiness = longevity

To Person X
Dear Person X
You have been a ray of hope where I have felt unhappy and sad.
You are a kindred spirit who has strongly aided a pessimistic person see the world in a newer, optimistic light.
You have been a moral and sincere mentor, and I hope, for my sake, that we are able to maintain our deep friendship.
You have helped me see certain, positive qualities in me, qualities which others have failed to notice or mention.
You understand me like no other person ever has.
Regards,
a humble and honest individual

ty
People have suggested to me that I am
- Hardworking
- Intelligent
- Respectable
instead of the usual rant about how such assumptions are ill-founded, not true, no factual evidence, etc, i just wanted to say thanks for viewing me in such a positive light.

Thoughts
A friend told me that he earnt 10k in the past 2 months. He said that he worked night shift at Australia Mail from 6pm to 6am. I nodded back, but I remember thinking to myself - is the money earnt really worth the trouble, pain, inevitable health degradation, as well as screwed up eating and sleeping patterns?
I think not
